Which Ballinlass? edit

According to the Placenames Database of Ireland http://www.logainm.ie/en/s?txt=Ballinlass there are 3 townlands in Co Galway named Ballinlass each in different Baronies and Electoral districts and no such place as Ballinglass.Who knows which Ballinlass did this incident take place in? ww2censor (talk) 10:15, 13 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

It is about one and a half miles northeast of Mountbellew, see here and here. --Scolaire (talk) 10:38, 13 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I've moved it to the proper spelling and added details to identify which of the 3 Ballinlass it was. All 3 are listed in List of townlands of County Galway. ww2censor (talk) 12:34, 13 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Landlord edit

user:Claíomh Solais added here an unsourced statement about the landlord. This is strange, as the article stated further down: But despite this fact, they were evicted on 13 March 1846 because the landlord, a Mrs Gerrard, intended to establish a grazing farm where the village was situated.. Unfortunately, Claíomh Solais needed a personal attack while re-inserting the info, although this time he came up with a source.

So due to Claíomh Solais labour, the lede now states (...) by John Gerrard and his wife Marcella Netterville, (...) while further down the article it states (...) the landlord, a Mrs Gerrard, (...). First question: what is the truth? And secondly: is it useful to add Gerrard to the lede? And third question: is the given source a reliable source? The Banner talk 23:59, 27 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Where is the contradiction? I don't understand what you're getting at. Claíomh Solais (talk) 00:03, 28 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
If you are meaning in reference to the name Marcella Netterville is simply the birth name of Ms. Gerrard (ie - the wife of John Gerrard), as you can read in the reference from the Galway Advertiser. Claíomh Solais (talk) 00:05, 28 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
You discretely skip the questions... The Banner talk 08:44, 28 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
