Welcome to the 13.5 inch /45 (34.3 cm) naval gun Talk Page

This page has been modelled on the 15 inch /42 (38.1 cm) Mark I naval gun stub; thanks to all who have contributed to that resource. John Moore 309 16:26, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Boche Buster : 18 inch howitzer ?

edit

My info is that Boche Buster (the railway carriage from WWI that originally carried a 14 inch Mk III gun) carried an 18 inch howitzer in WWII, not a 13.5 inch gun, and that this did not have the range to fire across the Channel. It covered potential invasion routes on the Kent coast. My sources are I.V. Hogg, Dale Clarke, Simon Stevin Vlaams Vestingbouwkundig Centrum (http://www.geocities.com/wmfanr1/WMF-home.htm) and this thread at Armchair General, where the folks do serious research : http://www.armchairgeneral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38099&page=270 Rcbutcher Rcbutcher (talk) 13:00, 9 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Talkin' Turkey

edit

I read here Turkey bought some ex-Tiger 13.5s. Can anybody confirm? Worth a mention? (I'd also wonder what price was paid...) TREKphiler hit me ♠ 10:44, 4 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Tony DiGiulian ( http://navweaps.com/Weapons/WNBR_135-45_mk5.htm ) reports that they were not actually delivered. I presume the approach of war affected this, as they may have been needed for home defence. Rcbutcher (talk) 11:10, 4 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
