Is he popularly referred to as AVM? If not then the article should probably refer to him as "Avichi " or "Chettiar".

Lead:"By the time he died in 1979, he had produced 167 films in all Indian languages."- Please mention the languages cause "all Indian languages" is misleading as there are nearly 1,576 Indian languages! KnowledgeHegemonyPart2 (talk) 14:06, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

He is referred to as "A. V. Meiyappan" or simply by his initials as "AVM" and the name of his production company is "AVM Productions". As for the statistics on his films, I've reproduced it from an article; and the article does not mention anything about the languages in which he produced his films.-RavichandarMy coffee shop 14:34, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Whatever may be the case but such a statement in the lead is going to put off reviewers. KnowledgeHegemonyPart2 (talk) 07:30, 19 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

You may find me overtly critical but the all I am rying to do is make this article a success. To be a success at WP:FAC the sourcing should be reliable (A look at Preity Zinta's FAC may help you understand the importance of WP:RS)

Most of the article is sourced from upperstall.com. But the reliabilty of upperstall is a question mark because of this message on its homepage

Well, there are 42 different articles which have been referenced to write this article. Most of the facts have been from articles which have appeared in The Hindu and chennaionline.com, both of which are reputed for their quality. In most cases, facts carry dual references. And as Upperstall team has stated, the articles are thoroughly reviewed before publication. I would rather expect Upperstall to have experts in their review team, rather than some Tom, Dick or Harry.-RavichandarMy coffee shop 15:06, 20 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
I agree with all the shortcomings. But then, the article should reach completion before a review and the article has'nt yet been finished. I've been working all alone for sometime with barely any assistance at all. It will be good if anyone could help.-RavichandarMy coffee shop 13:43, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:

Resolved This issue has been resolved, and I have therefore removed the tag, if not already done. No further action is necessary.—cyberbot II NotifyOnline 06:11, 12 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
