Complete the Disney's acquisition of Fox
Is Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox will be complete in January 1, 2019? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.77.218.58 (talk) 03:59, 7 November 2018 (UTC)
- No, first half of 2019. —Lowellian (reply) 23:36, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox will be completed on Tuesday for New Year's Day! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1:F422:5D7C:E9FD:C51D:ECC0:E5BD (talk) 20:52, 19 December 2018 (UTC)
You can change the title "Proposed acquisition of 21st Century Fox by Disney" into "Acquisition of 21st Century Fox by Disney" right now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.27.23.26 (talk) 05:49, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Potential Jan 1 close.
Why is the Jan 1, 2019 close being mentioned as being expected when the link to the Variety article said it logistically ready to close Jan 1, 2019, but that regulatory approval in other countries could drag it on to somewhere in the first half of 2019? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 9166mdc (talk • contribs) 21:11, 2 December 2018 (UTC)
- The January 1 date being quoted is the date on which the companies are "logistically prepared to close." However, the articles sourced state that "[r]egulatory processes will likely drag the ultimate closure beyond that date"[1] and that "the deal will close out in the first half of 2019."[2] I have changed the phrasing of the article to reflect this important distinction. ESPN Fox Sports Latin America
Shouldn't there be a section about concerns on television sports channels in Latin America? Unlike other area, ESPN and Fox Sports are competing each other there. There should be antitrust concerns when both services combine. JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 11:46, 4 January 2019 (UTC)
- Disney has agreed to sell Fox Sports Mexico/Brazil. Theywontletme (talk) 19:46, 1 March 2019 (UTC)
- Do we know who they are selling Fox Sports to? SeanWheeler (talk) 03:34, 2 March 2019 (UTC)
- Disney is still looking for buyers for the Fox Sports and European A&E channels. We only know they've agreed to sell Sky to Comcast, and a Mexican film distributor to Sony. Theywontletme (talk) 19:17, 2 March 2019 (UTC)
Other regulators
So far we've seen approval from the USA, Mexico, Brazil, and the EU with conditions; as well as India, Colombia and China without conditions.
Has anyone found news about regulation approvals in Russia, Australia or Japan? Theywontletme (talk) 19:46, 1 March 2019 (UTC)
They received approval from those countries very early on in the process. DisneyAviationRollerCoasterEnthusiast (talk) 01:12, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

I propose moving the page to Acquisition of 21st Century Fox by By the Walt Disney Company once the deal closes March 20th. If anyone opposes please air your concerns below otherwise please leave the section blank. DisneyAviationRollerCoasterEnthusiast (talk) 17:44, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
- Nah, we'll wait a month after the closure of the deal to give us time to fact check if the deal was a success. Fox can change their mind at the last minute and reject the deal. SeanWheeler (talk) 16:58, 14 March 2019 (UTC)
- Once the deal is closed Fox no longer has the option to back out. I support the proposed move once the deal closes. GoPats (talk) 15:31, 15 March 2019 (UTC)
- I also agree, the deal is done. There's no backing out, we have the majority of the facts needed. I suggest we rename the page. Perhaps just removed 'proposed' from the title. --82.43.114.79 (talk) 16:12, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
Per the official press release by 21st Century Fox at [3], the deal closes "at 12:02 a.m. Eastern Time tomorrow, March 20, 2019". As for this article title, the only thing that needs to be done at that time (not before) is to remove the word "proposed" from the title. —Lowellian (reply) 16:18, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
- I think that to "rename" a page you need to actually move it to the desired title. Not sure that a title can be renamed directly. Agree that the new title should just be "Acquisition of 21st Century Fox by Disney" GoPats (talk) 17:31, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
- The time has come. The needy may be done. Kailash29792 (talk) 18:33, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
- Almost, but not quite. It's still a few hours away. Just a reminder to everyone to wait until that official time; there's no need to jump the gun. ;) —Lowellian (reply) 19:45, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
- Regardless of the fact that the acquisition hasn't been completed, it's no longer just "proposed". It's happening. Without "proposed", the title can still refer to future tense. M.Clay1 (talk) 22:41, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
Please note that I made a request for a page move at Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests, please move it to the "contested" heading on that same page if you have an objection. Aoi (青い) (talk) 04:11, 20 March 2019 (UTC)

Several so-called special contribution users who erroneously report several sources "blogs" or "unreliable" simply to get around the notion that Disney is not in fact a monopoly
Users like 2001:48F8:7028:1930:E430:19AE:B1FD:1696, 23C8:5D00:ED01:34BF:FC3A:551C:1189, and 2601:648:8700:5290:501B:385C:2CC6:5A58 for weeks erroneously keeps on reporting several sources "blogs" or "unreliable" simply to get around the notion that Disney is not in fact a monopoly. Even if it's not true, these comments still fit within the antitrust concerns and the fact the reported usernames here are nothing but consisted of numbers and special contributions makes me suspsious if they are actually sock accounts by the same user. This is close to vandalism in this article and that's simply unacceptable to disregard them simply because it hurts their point of view. XXzoonamiXX (talk) 16:42, 28 December 2019 (UTC)
