A Full Life: Reflections at 90A Full Life – Per WP:SUBTITLE142.161.83.66 (talk) 01:00, 4 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:18, 4 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. WP:SUBTITLE doesn't say "don't use subtitles", it says we should "use the work's commonly used name", and that this may be the version that omits the subtitle, especially if it's verbose. No evidence has been presented that "A Full Life" is the most commonly used name. The sources linked to from the article all use the full title at least once - then some of them switch to the shortened form in later mentions of the book. I don't think the full title will be less recognizable to readers (if anything, I think the opposite is true), nor do I think the subtitle is excessively long. • Comment: I notice that in the cover art shown in the article, the subtitle is in very small font. That seems to suggest that the publisher (and probably also the author) didn't consider the subtitle an indispensable part of the title. —BarrelProof (talk) 04:39, 5 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. The full title is not so long as to require abbreviation. —SmokeyJoe (talk) 12:13, 11 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
