Season 2
edit>>Season 2 must take place after 2001, since it is set in September, and references are made to sending terrorists to Guantanamo Bay for interrogation, which was not done until 2002. Also, President Palmer's Cabinet includes the Department of Homeland Security.
Untitled
editFirst of all, this is in the overview section - I don't think it is really important as part of the overview.
Secondly, and more importantly, this is a fictional TV show. David Palmer was never president in our universe, so can we really go analysing the 'date' of the series based on our universe? And is it really important to place a real-life year on a show taking place in a fictional universe? I vote that the whole point is unnecessary in this article - anyone agree?
I disagree. It can be concluded that this show takes place roughly in 2003. True, it is the 24-Universe, and not our own, but the writers and supplemental material (comics, books, The Game) have provided enough information where dating the series is more than just speculation. Also, dating and keeping track of dates have helped fans to realize immediately that things have to happen in due time, such as the upcoming General Elecion about a year after Day V. Should Day VI take place more than a year later, than the President must either be a newly re-elected Gardner or a brand new President. Examples like prove the small necessity of dating exists.
Assessment rating
editI've rated this article as start class because it contains most of the important information about the subject but contains no inline citations. I've rated it as low importance to wikiproject television as series articles are of comparitively low importance compared to article about entire shows.--Opark 77 21:17, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Goofs (or not)
edit- "In episode 15, President Palmer departs from the East Coast on Air Force One to fly to Los Angeles. During the flight he is told that the nuclear bomb blast will be “visible on the eastern horizon.” The plane is traveling from east to west. If the bomb blast were visible, it would have appeared on the western horizon."
President Palmer started that day fishing with his son somewhere in Oregon. If he's flying from Oregon to California, then there was no goof. Bourquie (talk) 08:42, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
