selected teams?

edit

can anybody tell me why these teams where picked and no other teams?

It was an invite tournament, based on other pre-season schedules and availability. Hamburg were originally going to play instead of Valencia, but they had to pull out because they entered the Intertoto Cup. Steveweiser 20:08, 29 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

2 or 1 matches?

edit

When you buy your ticket for The Emirates cup, do you get to watch both matches or can you enter at the bigging of the second match and leave at the end of the 1st? The C of E (talk) 18:41, 8 May 2009 (UTC) -- Both matches on that day. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.101.25.12 (talk) 18:19, 15 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Creating new pages for each year?

edit

You could have the general statistics and information on the current page and then separate pages entitled Emirates Cup 2007, Emirates Cup 2008 and so on. Would help make the article look tidier.

Points (2011)

edit

Can you change the amount of points in the 2011 edition? Starting this year and do not add points for goals scored

Already been done. The C of E. God Save The Queen! (talk) 06:35, 31 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Edit request from 2.102.207.216, 31 July 2011

edit

Please change the table standings, and the results of the "Day 2" games for the Emirates Cup 2011 section. A point is awarded for each goal, and therefore the points should be changed accordingly. Also the Day 2 score ended Paris Saint Germain 3-0 Boca Juniors, (scorers unknown) - the table should be ammended according to this scoreline. Lastly the Arsenal vs New York Red Bulls game is still in progress, and therefore the code "in progress" should be placed to indicate the match is in progress, with the current scores at 0-0

2.102.207.216 (talk) 15:48, 31 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

The table has been updated. Note that points are no longer awarded for each goal. — Yk ʏк yƙ  talk ~ contrib 18:09, 31 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Change first paragraph

edit

It says "Arsenal are the current holders of the Cup..." at the end of the first paragraph, which is no longer true - RBNY is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kevinhoagland (talkcontribs) 17:56, 31 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Use of flags

edit

The teams are not representing their nations so the use of flags is against WP:MOSFLAG. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 20:56, 27 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Picture

edit

I think that the picture should be one of the cup itself, rather than a picture of a game being played -- seems more relevant, and many readers would be interested as to what the cup looks like, especially after the unique description given by its maker quoted on the page. Most Successful club

edit

Of course Arsenal are "the most successful club in the tournament's history", they're the only club who are in it every year. I just feel this should be reworded somehow so it doesn't sound like the equivalent achievement to winning 10 FA Cups (11!) or being the only club unbeaten in a season. Clive S.
