I concur, although I would actually recommend that 2,3-Disphosphoglycerate be merged into this article as 2,3-Bisphosphoglycerate is of more biological importance due to its role in acclimatization and glycolysis. Even though the difference between the two is minor. I believe it is also an intermediate product in the calvin cycle of photosynthesis. I will check back here in a weeks time, if there are no responses or consensus with my opinion then I shall make the relevant changes.--WikipedianProlific(Talk) 12:36, 11 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fetal Hemoglobin

edit

" Like that, histidine nº143 gets lost, so 2,3-BPG has difficulties in linking to the fetal hemoglobin, and it looks like the pure hemoglobin. That’s the way O2 flows from the mother to the fetus." I can't quite put my finger on it, but this doesn't feel like a scientific style. Histidine "gets lost"? Specifically, I don't know what the writer means by "it looks like the pure hemoglobin". What is "it"? What is "pure hemoglobin"? Deoxy? Oxygenated? Beta? Gamma? I'd be grateful if someone could take a look at this. Not me - I came here to find out about exactly this phenomenon, but I'm afraid I'm none the wiser. Bdellovibrio (talk) 21:44, 29 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

hey

thanks for the article , i think that there is a difference between 2,3Diphosphoglycerate and 2,3Bisphosphoglycerate which is :

di- is for two phosphate molecules that are connected while Bis- is for two phosphate molecules that are not connected you can check a biochemistry text book i found it in Stryer

Add article to WP:MCB?

edit

Can this article be added to WP:MCB using the {{Wikiproject MCB}} tag? Somerandomuser (talk) 21:40, 31 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Fetal Hemoglobin figure

edit

The figure that appears in the Fetal Hemoglobin section seems a bit out of place and seems to be too large. I tried to make it smaller but I don't want to inadvertently mess up the layout. Somerandomuser (talk) 21:49, 31 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Rename article to 2,3-Bisphosphoglycerate

edit

The article mainly discusses about 2,3-bisphosphoglycerate. Should this article be renamed to "2,3-Bisphosphoglycerate" instead? Somerandomuser (talk) 22:52, 31 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
