Ken Barlow link / Walter Berry / etc. edit

  • I did NOT put in the Ken Barlow link! I am not the only contributor to edit this page. User:Dale Arnett put in the link to Ken Barlow.
  • I worked for the Portland Trail Blazers, and I was there when Walter came to camp. “Millions” of readers don’t even know who the heck Walter Berry is. They have not a clue.
  • I did NOT remove the link to Johnny Newman and Kevin Duckworth. They were just never put in. (There were links for them in the “rounds” table.)
  • An eight-grade boy in Melbourne, Australia, trying to learn about the NBA and the NBA draft might not fathom the fact that the goal of an NBA team is attempt to draft in order to reach the NBA Finals.
  • I worked intimately analyzing basketball during this time. I have an in-depth knowledge of the NBA from 1980 to 1995.
  • To anyone who was there, and watched the 1990 NBA Finals with basketball intelligence, Vinnie Johnson was the difference. He came off the bench time and again to hit a crucial three-point shot to push a tight game in favor of the Pistons. What it has to do with the draft is, the “goal of the draft is to get to the finals.” And sometimes you need to look back at the drafts, and forwards a few years to the Finals and do an analysis of what the key factors were between the two.
  • This article is not so big that we can’t try and educate that eight-grader in Melbourne to the details between the draft, and the finals. And help fill in the gap between the two. This article is an analysis of the 1986 NBA Draft and what happened with certain picks, what there outcomes where. Not just a table with a list of names, teams, and links. It attempts to explain why certain things happened with certain picks and teams.
