Duke Robert?

edit

Two sentences in the article currently read, "England was conquered by Canute of Denmark later that year, and Alfred and Edward returned to the court of their uncle, Duke Robert of Normandy. There is some evidence of a plan on the part of Duke Robert to invade England on his nephews' behalf."

The Duke of Normandy at the time was Richard II of Normandy. There was also Richard III of Normandy before Robert I of Normandy, who was not their uncle. They did have an uncle called Robert, but he was apparently Count of Evreux. This information has been in the article since the merge, and it was in that article for years. I can't check the source, because it's a book. McLerristarr | Mclay1 20:08, 28 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ælfred ÆthelingAlfred Aetheling – No reason to use the Æ dipthong in the title. This also isn't the correct Old English name, as the thorn is not used, so the current title is in the middle between current and old English. Utopes (talk / cont) 19:12, 24 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Support. Absolutely agree with nom. The proposed name is most commonly used by sources. It also looks like the proposed name was the longstanding title of this article until about 2 weeks ago without discussion. BLAIXX 12:40, 1 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
