X-linked hypertrichosis

X-linked hypertrichosis, also known as X-linked congenital generalized hypertrichosis, is a hereditary disorders characterized by generalized congenital hypertrichosis and thick eyebrows.[1]

Signs and symptoms
editHypertrichosis is characterized as excessive hair growth anywhere on the body, in either men or women.[2] X-linked hypertrichosis affects males more than females.[3]
Causes
editX-linked hypertrichosis was first mapped in chromosome Xq24-q27.1 in a Mexican family; however, the underlying genetic facts remain unknown.[4] X-linked hypertrichosis is inherited in an X-linked dominant pattern of inheritance.[3]
