Project complete (I think)

edit

I have updated the progress table and added a few notes to this project page to indicate that, as far as I can tell, this project is complete. Post here or modify the page if I missed anything. Nice work, everyone. It's nice to get a project like this completed on WP. – Jonesey95 (talk) 21:44, 27 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Was I premature in June?[1] Where's the after-party? ―Mandruss  04:27, 31 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
Just a bit. There were some off-Earth templates (for Moon craters and such) that were done in June and July. The party starts in western Europe in just under 5 hours UTC and will continue for 24 hours! – Jonesey95 (talk) 19:11, 31 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
I don't think I can swim that fast, but I'll be there in spirit. ―Mandruss  04:33, 1 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

OK to delete Category:Pages using deprecated coordinates format?

edit

Are we ready to delete Category:Pages using deprecated coordinates format? I do not think it has any further use. – Jonesey95 (talk) 21:46, 27 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

I marked it with a speedy-delete template. Act fast if you want to keep it. – Jonesey95 (talk) 19:13, 31 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Coordinates display above infobox

edit

I just created the page Tomb of Lord Yanju, with a historical site infobox and coordinates. For some reason, the coordinates display both in the infobox and above it. It doesn't look horrible, just not right. Is there a way to fix it? Jacqke (talk) 15:43, 25 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

That's pretty much the standard way of displaying coordinates here. It's produced by the "display=inline, title" parameter in the {{coord}} template. Deor (talk) 16:07, 25 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Jacqke: You are two orders of magnitude over the maximum recommended precision. See WP:COORDPREC and the section preceding it. ―Mandruss  16:14, 25 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
I figured it was too precise. I was just happy I finally got the coordinates to work; it was very difficult to find the location to get them. I understand the military's grid ref system and trimming numerals there, but I haven't looked up how to trim them from Lat and longitudes, yet... Thank youJacqke (talk) 16:19, 25 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Jacqke: I went ahead and reduced the precision to the maximum recommended.[2]Mandruss  16:24, 25 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, I appreciate it. Jacqke (talk) 16:29, 25 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I wonder whether anyone could look at the poor display of coordinates squeezed inside the top of the infobox on the Suwon page, please. I've compared it with others, e.g., Seoul, and I can't see why it isn't displaying at the top of the page. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers. JPBarrass (talk) 04:19, 29 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Jpbarrass: This isn't really an infobox issue, more of an issue with the way that {{coord}} is handled in certain skins. See Template talk:Coord#messed up display when using display=title. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 21:23, 29 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Many thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Much appreciated. 👍JPBarrass (talk) 12:33, 30 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
