The word Tanka/ Thangkha (ཐང་ཁ thang kha) usually refers to (mostly smaller) Tibetan paintings depicting Buddhist dieties or Lamas which are framed with silk brocade and designed to be rolled up.
What is depicted here seems to be a larger Tibetan mural painting, called Debri (Tib. ལྡེབས་རིས ldebs ris), designed to be fixed or glued to the wall of a temple. Chris Fynn (talk) 11:08, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
