Shape of hull neglected edit

A ship is only instable with CG higher than CB if the hull is e.g. round. Counter-example: Very wide caramaran. Very stable even if CG is higher than CB due to large sidewards shift of CB with tilt of the vessel. So stability is result of CB and CG AND shift of CB caused by hull shape.
