File talk:Peace for Paris fairuse 99px.jpg

@.js: I think it's safe to upload this at a slightly higher resolution per WP:NFC#Meeting the minimal usage criterion. My rule of the thumb is that since it's only used in an article, the size should be that of the thumbnail. The highest default thumbnail rendition (ie. no image size set in wikitext, thus rendering at the size one has set in preferences) allowed by the software is 400px. The default with the preference unset is 250px. Finnusertop (talk | guestbook | contribs) 02:30, 19 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Finnusertop: Thank you for helping, so should I upload 400 or 250px? And do you know if/how the file name can be changed accordingly then? The "Move" button is not there (for me). --.js (talk) 04:41, 20 November 2015 (UTC) PS. I have tested 400 and 250 on my screen and consider 400 as much too big. 250 is OK but I still think 99px is fully sufficent for encyclopedic value, isn't it? Is it really needed bigger? --.js (talk) 06:22, 20 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Marchjuly: Could you tell us what you would like to discuss about this picture? The link you are posting is empty. I followed all the instructions you gave promptly, so why escalate it further now? --.js (talk) 06:50, 20 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Sorry about the link. Another Wikipedia noticeboard was recently incorporated into "Files for discussion", and there are still some bugs that are being worked out. The correct link to discussion is Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2015 November 20. BTW, I'm not sure what you mean by "escalate". I don't remember previously giving you any instructions. Did we discuss this file before? -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:55, 20 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, sorry too: The "you" in my message was meant in plural for those instructions:
I have asked for help/advice several times, because the standard template messages did't give me a prognosis if all my work is in vain and even asked if it will be deleted (or probably expected to)... Now that deletion request sounds like a deletion request for the article, not for the image. (I am not a native speaker, so my vocabulary might be assembled uncommon, nothing i write is meant offensive, but all constructive for positive encyclopedic collaboration!) I regard this image a benefit for the articles, and am in contact with Jean an his agent who support this "fair use". But if "we"(WP) don't want it let's kick it out and dont waste too much time on it, do we? --.js (talk) 07:58, 20 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
@.js: On the issue of the size of the image: you have a valid point, 99px is sufficient. One looks for clear answers in the guidelines in vain. As for the filename, only file movers can move files. Finnusertop (talk | guestbook | contribs) 08:27, 20 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
