equilibrium

Note: This lever is not in equilibrium. I've been using it for the last 5 years to illustrate to students they they should be cautions in calculations about assumptions and simplifications made. The creator of this illustration has made an assumption that the plank has zero mass. It's not valid, that plank probably weighs 10-20kg, and is significantly off centre, hence the exemplar is not in equilibrium. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.174.57.221 (talk) 09:08, 10 October 2013 (UTC)
