Fair use violation

edit

Image violates at least fair use criteria 1 and 8:

  • Image is not necessary to illustrate the topic of urban exploration.
  • Image does not significantly increase readers' understanding of the topic.

The article, urban exploration, does not discuss the book; it is merely used as a reference. Therefore use of the book cover is decorative, to illustrate the subject of the article rather than the book itself, and therefore free content could be created to replace it. It doesn't meet CSD criteria. Take it elsewhere. seicer | talk | contribs 14:41, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Looking over the Criteria for speedy deletion and also the fair use articles, I see no violation here. Sufficient reasoning has been given within the image page. If you still feel that this image should be removed from the Urban Exploration article, please take this discussion over there. Brothejr (talk) 15:49, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
If it is removed, it will no longer be eligible for keeping on Wikipedia, as fair use images *must* be in an article. Papa Lima Whiskey (talk) 17:13, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
There was no clear consensus for its removal. seicer | talk | contribs 19:37, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
It violates policy. Consensus doesn't enter into it. Papa Lima Whiskey (talk) 21:00, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Is this like your tirade about NPOV? seicer | talk | contribs 21:19, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
