Note for posterity edit

Because it took so much time and work to get this file made, I wanted to note what I had to do it to get it ready. The logo uses an embedded PDF font, which meant I had to learn how to extract that font, using FontForge. After three tries, I got the correct font, saved it, converted it to TrueType, and installed it on my system. Then I loaded page 7 of the PDF in Inkscape, deleted all the other content, converted the text to paths, combined a bunch of paths that were leaving gaps that weren't supposed to be there, combined the outlines with the image, removed a bunch of useless groups, and then optimized it to 5 decimal places using SCOUR (to fit low res requirements). The pretty print feature failed, so I copied it to an online pretty printer, got that right, copied it to the SVG validator to get a proper DOCTYPE, then finally checked it with the SVG checker on Wikimedia Commons.

I post this so, in the event a new seal must be extracted to replace this one, you'll have an idea of what you are in for. — trlkly 21:58, 10 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
