There are indeed vector (e.g. editable) versions of this map available. See commons:Category:Blank maps of the United States. I hate this map

This is the style of map most schoolchildren in the U.S., including myself, grew up with. Now, as a long-term resident of Alaska, I really, really don't like to see these being used. It grossly misrepresents Alaska's location and size. Am I being too proud and regionalistic or is there a real interest to be served in a more accurate representation? I realize part of the problem is that you have to show Canada to accurately reflect where it really is, but it certainly isn't off the coast of Mexico and barely the size of Nevada.
