The province is subdivided into 14 departments. The current number of the latter was determined over time by dividing the large departments into smaller ones. The departments of this province are: Urmia , Salmas , Naghadeh , Piranshahr , Bukan , Khoi , Mahabad , Oshnaviyeh , Sardasht , Chaldoran , Miandoab , Maku , Takab and Shahindej.
This map dosnot show true demographic structure of West Azerbaijani province. Because all borderline with Republic of Turkey shown as Kurdish inhabited. For Example city of Maku in borderline of İran and Turkey is a Azerbaijani city and near 90 percent of population speaks Azerbaijani Turkish.

this picture is not true , West Azerbaijan province is Turk and specially Urmia the provinces capital mainly population are Azeri turks
