The orbits are the wrong shape edit

They should be ellipticals.

The math behind this plot edit

I am interested in the math behind this plot. There was a similar plot in a different article and the author was kind enough to provide the sourcecode. It was most useful! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Nearby_Stars_%2814ly_Radius%29.svg
