It's pretty unlikely that this doe is the mother of both kids. She is a purebred Saanen, and the white kid is also a purebred Saanen. However, the brown kid looks like an Alpine-Nubian cross or similar. If she was bred to a Nubian, the brown kid would be a possibility, but then the other kid would most likely not be pure white. They clearly have different fathers, and most likely the kids were just hanging out close to each together, which they naturally do. Goats may mate multiple times while they are in heat, but two sires are fairly improbable. The brown kid could have been the result of an embryo transfer by breeders, but that's pretty unlikely too, since the brown kid is a crossbred and embryo transfer isn't likely. In any case, a different photo would be more accurate to depict the usual situation with a doe and her offspring. Tandoranges (talk) 19:26, 25 February 2008 (UTC)tandorangesReply
