Turkey is part of the EU/NATO? I think not.

This is a really odd map. Also the Latvian and Estonian borders are those of the 1930's, not nowadays. Calls for a deletion? Gragox (talk) 12:15, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

If it's to be used, the Turkey edit isn't the only one needed; Cyprus is not a part of NATO (at least not according to the NATO article). Also, other breakaway regions on the map should be more clearly denoted. TRNC isn't noted, but the Armenian-occupied parts of Azerbaijan are. These might be worthy of mention, especially due to Russian involvement in the latter, though I understand the need not to crowd the map. Calbaer (talk) 21:05, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

Northern Cyprus should be acknowledged with a dashed line for its "border" (as, e.g., Kosovo is) but as far as the EU and NATO are concerned there is only one nation on the island. The entire island should be blue.

Agreed. No one in NATO recognizes Northern Cyprus as part of Turkey. Turkey recognizes it as independent and everyone else recognizes it as part of Cyprus. More to the point, if Northern Cyprus came under attack, NATO would not recognize it as an attack on a NATO member. So it should be labeled blue. Although Northern Cyprus is not an EU member, the EU considers Northern Cypriots as part of the Republic of Cyprus and thus part of the EU. Calbaer (talk) 15:55, 1 April 2014 (UTC)
