Colours edit

According to an Irish government document here, the green is Pantone 347 and the orange is pantone 151. According to this converter, those are hex #009959 and #FF7900 respectively. Those are not quite the colours we're using in this image as I write this. The difference is slight, and may reflect different ways of converting Pantone to RGB, but I think if we're going to stick with the current colours, we should justify that decision. --P3d0 04:16, 27 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Precise colors of the flag edit

There is a discussion about the precise colours of the flag here--Trounce 16:04, 3 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Name edit

Surely the name of this image needs to change to "Flag of the Republic of Ireland" as per recently-settled WP policy? Mooretwin (talk) 18:40, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

No, because it is "the flag of Ireland". It was the flag of Ireland long before the Republic of Ireland Act and that Act did not change its status. (Nor change the name of the state, for that matter, though we have an an absurd, 1950s throwback, WP policy that likes to pretend otherwise). --Red King (talk) 19:39, 24 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
It's only the flag of the Republic. There's no agreed flag for all of Ireland. Mooretwin (talk) 22:29, 24 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
