The vapor cone surrounding the FA-18 has nothing to do with breaking the sound barrier.
- Similar clouds are seen at sub-sonic speeds, even on race cars, but they tend to form off the wings or spoiler. A cone like this probably is from the stated effect. Tom3118 (talk) 19:23, 1 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
