Size of Bijapur questioned? edit
The Bijapur Sultanate was fairly large in its size, it was considered the most powerful of the Deccan Sultanates. Its eventual conquest in the year 1686 was a massive and costly challenge to the Mughals under Aurangzeb, this map (Deccan sultanates 1490 - 1687 ad.GIF) seriously and unfairly reduces the actual size of the Adil Shahi dynasty territories.
