FP? edit

i ccan believe all of that FP. It's faded, washed out, too bright, and illegible. It obviously only got FP because it's old. Rlevse 02:18, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

No, it got FP because it is the first page of the oldest Constitution still in use, and it also contains the famous phrases "We the people" and "In order to form a more perfect union" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.6.243.42 (talk) 14:30, 30 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Worthless!! edit

Tell us exactly what makes this worth uploading to Wikipedia, I can barely see any of the text, it is near totally washed out to the fullest extent, And that cursive printing is impossible to read. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.229.108.85 (talk) 13:26, 17 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

It is an extremely historically valuable document - just because you have difficulty reading the handwriting because cursive text styles have changed since this was written doesn't mean the document is worthless to historians. Are the Dead Sea scrolls useless because they're written in Hebrew and you can't read Hebrew (they're also in Aramaic and Greek but that's beside the point)? The paper this is written on is old and degraded, and the ink has faded - no doubt some restoration effort can be made on the image, if you would like to see this done please nominate it at the Graphic Lab. Please curb your self-importance - simply because you yourself don't like something is not a reason for others to act, and is childish petulance at best. —Vanderdeckenξφ 15:53, 19 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Engrosser Jacob Shallus edit

Should the engrosser, Jacob Shallus, who wrote out this document, be mentioned in the description, or the captions where the image is displayed?--DThomsen8 (talk) 18:37, 11 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
