File talk:Comparison US standard atmosphere 1962.svg

The altitudes on this image do not match the definitions of current standard - US Standard Atmosphere 1976. In addition the labels indicate that the tropopause, stratopause, and mesopause each has zero thickness when in fact each has a significant thickness. As indicated in the filename and description, the graph illustrates the 1962 (not 1976) standard. It was redrawn from the graphs at Geometric altitude vs. temperature, pressure, density, and the speed of sound derived from the 1962 U.S. Standard Atmosphere. and SP-367 Introduction to the Aerodynamics of Flight. As it was produced by NASA, I consider it a reputable source. cmɢʟee'τaʟκ'maιʟ 20:34, 13 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Is there any way we can get an X axis label on this graph?24.18.38.205 (talk) 21:43, 19 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
