Hmm, wouldn't it be more appropriate to show a cm ruler instead of one with inches on a rendering depicting the kilogramm? Just my 2c --Rubik's Cube (talk) 15:56, 12 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I agree, why does this have an inch scale for an SI standard? Luckily the inch is meaningless enough that is is based entirely off the metre scale. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.5.7.4 (talk) 14:37, 20 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I agree as well. This is just crazy, and looks bad on the kilogram page, which essentially deals about SI units ... Is the design for this rendered image available? --Anthony Liekens (talk) 12:16, 20 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Computer image edit

I am dumbfounded by this image. A computer generated image of mass? That doesn't make sense at all. It could be a picture of anything. If there is no real picture, it would be better not to have a picture.  Randall Bart   Talk  03:58, 18 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

The best option would be a picture of the official IPK, but it seems either security or a lack of copyright-free images has blocked that. While there are copies of the IPK that can be viewed, most of them are pictured enclosed in protective glass bells, which distorts their appearances. It is misleading to categorize a relatively realistic computerized rendering as very different from a film, let alone digital, camera image of a different object in representing the official IPK.
