File talk:Area parallellogram as determinant.svg

Latest comment: 12 years ago by 75.147.183.9 in topic Coordinates

In the current version, the formula given is actually the negative of the area. Switching the points so that (a,b) is at the bottom and (c,d) is at the top will make it correct. --Lasunncty (talk) 01:35, 2 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Coordinates edit

For me the coordinates are being rendered like "(,)cd" and "(+,+)abcd". Is this the desired behavior? Am I missing something? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jludwig (talkcontribs) 20:41, 28 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I see it that way too. However, when I click on the link to the actual .svg file, it looks fine. Somehow the rendering of the .svg file in the wikipedia page is not happening correctly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.225.67.206 (talk) 14:10, 5 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I also agree that ad-bc is a negative number, and is thus not the area. a and d are small numbers. b and c are larger numbers. So ad-bc is negative.24.225.67.206 (talk) 14:18, 5 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I am so confused — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.147.183.9 (talk) 17:59, 25 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
