English: "The Statue Indignant". Cartoon by E. C. Mountfort depicting the statue of John Skirrow Wright (1822-1880), sculpted by Francis John Williamson, in Colmore Row, Birmingham. Joseph Chamberlain has climbed a ladder in order to paint the statue with a can of "Tory paint": the statue is shown stepping forward from its plinth to beat Chamberlain over the head with a volume labelled "Sturdy Liberalism". Published in 'The Dart' (16 Sept 1892).
