DescriptionWorld War II Remains of a British Concrete Gun Pit on Eggjarnar Suduroy Faroe Islands.JPG
English: This is the remain of a former concrete gun pit, made by the British Army during World War II. The Faroe Islands were occupied by Great Britain, while Denmark (which the Faroe Islands belong to) was occupied by Germany. This place is called Eggjarnar or Skúvanes, around 200 meters above sea level; it is located on the west coast of the island Suðuroy, which is the southernmost of the 18 islands of the Faroes. Nearby are two concrete pillboxes from World War II. In the background are the cliffs of Suðuroy, furthest away is Beinisvørð, which is 470 meters high, the second highest sea cliff of the Faroe Islands and amongst the 10 highest sea cliff in Europe.
