| Description |
English: The map shows the individual offshore wind lease areas on the southern coast of New England and the names o the lessees. Note that most leases are owned by a limited liability company which may be owned by one or more developers, and that each lease area may be subdivided into multiple projects (which may have different names). Not all lease areas will be constructed, and not all area in each lease area will support a wind turbine. The United States Coast Guard in cooperation with local marine interests has specified a 1-by-1 nautical mile grid of allowable turbine locations to provide for public safety and commercial use of the waters in the wind energy areas. |
