c/n WA.342. Built 1961 and flew as a trials and demonstration aircraft for Westlands until 1966 when she joined the Central Flying School at RAF Tern Hill. Transferred to 230sqn in September 1967, she operated in Germany before becoming part of the Queen’s Flight at RAF Benson between January 1968 and June 1969. She then joined 1563 flight at RAF Akrotiri, until returning to 230sqn in April 1970, albiet still based in Cyprus.
In December 1971 she joined 22sqn at RAF Finningley, and was their last operational Whirlwind when, in December 1981, she was retired and flown to the Aeropsace Museum at RAF Cosford.
In 2003 she moved to Hendon and went on display in the Historic Main Hangars, where she remains today.
