Washoe wallflower, Erysimum capitatum var. washoense, Nevada, Jobs Peak Ranch Trail, Carson Range, Sierra Nevada, Sheridan, Carson Valley drainage, elevation 1522 m (4995 ft). This local variant of the widespread western wallflower is distinguished by having an unusually thick central stem with numerous slender ascending lateral branches, leaves well-distributed throughout, and seeds partially winged. It is found along the east base and lower slopes of the Sierra Nevada Nevada from southern Washoe County Nevada to Mono County, California. |
