English: Date, 2004-6. Medium, acrylic, collage/cast paper, wood. Size, each box 12 x 10 x 4", 63 in series In the fall of 2004, Joyce Kozloff was in residence at the Camargo Foundation in Cassis, France. During that time on a visit to Venice, Joyce Kozloff became aware of cheap, kitschy "carnevale" masks sold at tourist kiosks. She purchased unpainted, pressed paper pulp masks to decorate with maps of islands all over the world. Picture by Kevin Ryan.
