Description	English: First Class Verandah café on board the RMS Mauretania Interior of the passenger liner 'Mauretania' (1907) showing the First Class Verandah Café, on the Boat Deck (A Deck); a view looking across to the port side. Bedford Lemere & Co daybooks state that this photograph was taken in 1914. However, it shows the Verandah Café after it had been remodelled along the lines of the Orangery at Hampton Court Palace. This work was carried out during the ship's refit completed in February 1927. The Verandah Café was considered an innovative feature and it allowed passengers to sit outside while simultaneously protecting them from the elements.
