Summary

Description

Built in 1944, this Spit served the RAF with 185 and 234sqn. It may have taken part in victory flypasts in 1945. It was exported to the South African Air Force in 1949. Forty years later, what little remained of TA805 returned to the UK. Initially stored, restoration began in 1995 and it's first post restoration flight took place in 2005. It is now based at Biggin Hill. CBAF.10372. 2013 Flying Legends airshow. Duxford, UK.
