English: Lomska Duliba, length ca. 7000 m, altitude ca. 1250 m, CroatianDinaric Alps of the Northern Velebit National Park. This beautiful, frequently visited area is one of several neighbouring closed karst depressions (uvala, if >1000 m).
Geology: Due to sizes, uvalas probably developed since Pliocene, maybe even earlier by faulting and karstification. Due to its altitude the depression was overprinted in glacial and periglacial times (Pleistocene). Massive tectonics and karstification karstified the Velebit mountain chain way down, deeply under the Adriatic Sea level (!).

Lomska Duliba, uvala, 3km, National Park Northern Velebit, croatian Dinarides. View from the slopes of Veliki Rajinac towards SE. In front of the glacial moraine (SE end of the uvala) is the huge funnel of the 563m deep shaft of Ledena Jama. There are 6 other shafts in a vicinity of mere 5km, 2 of which reach down 1400m, almost to sea level (1500m below). This uvala's deep karstic incision is a result of a strong fault, that also generated the famous formation of highly permeable fault breccia ("Jelar breccia").
