DescriptionUpper Reaches Of Pauatahanui Estuary.jpg
English: Looking towards Pauatahanui Wildlife Reserve across the inlet. The grasses further back are part of the biggest Salt Marsh in the southern half of New Zealand's North Island. The birds on the sand spit in the middle distance included Black Swans, Black-Backed Gulls, Red-Billed Gulls, Grey Teals and a few Spur-Winged Plovers. There might also have been a smattering of Pied Stilts and one or two White-Faced Herons!
