File:USS Monongahela with studding sails set.jpg

Summary

Description
English: All the studding sails are set, the mainsail is brailed up as otherwise it would blanket the fore course. The mainmast only has topgallant studding sails - any studding sails set lower down would blanket sails set on the foremast. There are no studding sails on the mizzen. If studding sails were available in these positions, but not set, the stun'sail booms would be visible stowed along the yards.
