Summary

Description Insignia of the U.S. Navy guided missile cruiser USS Biddle (DLG-34). This insignia, adopted in 1966, was based on the Biddle family crest and incorporated a nautical motif within the circular field. The hooked devices within the shield are known as "biddles" and are used in the family crest. The four stars represented the four USS Biddles, TB-26, DD-151, DDG-5, and DLG-34. The Latin motto "Deus Clypeus Meus" is translated into "God is my shield".
