| Description | An aerial view of a section of the U.S. Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia (USA), showing the repair basin and destroyer and submarine (D&S) piers No. 24 and No. 25 on 25 June 1995. A Los Angeles-class nuclear-powered attack submarine is in the auxiliary medium floating dry dock USS Resolute (AFDM-10) in the foreground. Above Resolute at pier No. 24 is the nuclear-powered guided missile cruiser USS Bainbridge (CGN-25) which was being prepared for decommissioning. Other ships present are USS South Carolina (CGN-37), USS Normandy (CG-60), and the destroyers USS Arthur W. Radford (DD-968) and USS Hayler (DD-997). | |||
