USAT George Washington Carver (U.S. Army Transport) Halftone reproduction of a photograph taken in 1946. Built in 1943 as the "Liberty" Ship George Washington Carver, this ship served as the Army Hospital Ship Dogwood from mid-1944 until early 1946. She then reverted to her original name for employment as a transport. Copied from the book "Troopships of World War II", by Roland W. Charles. |
