| Description |
English: Trongisvágsfjørður is the largest inlet (fjord) in Suðuroy, Faroe Islands. The villages around the fjord are from the northern side from east towards west: Froðba, Tvøroyri and Trongisvágur. On the southern side of the fjord: Øravíkarlíð and Øravík. The ferry port Krambatangi and Drelnes the former ferry port, where a former Saltsilo is located are also on the southern side of the fjord and visible on this photo. Øravík is not visible, but you can see Tjaldavíkshólmur, an islet near Øravík.
Føroyskt: Trongisvágsfjørður er størsti fjørður í Suðuroynni. Summi nevna hann Tvøráfjørður, sjálvt í Tvørásanginum, sum Poul F. hevur yrkt verður hann nevndur Tvøráfjørður, men uppruna navnið er Trongisvágsfjørður. Bygdin Trongisvágur var til langt fyrr enn Tvøroyri var bygt fyrst í 1800 talinum (umleið 1832). Á myndini sæst ein partur av Tvøroyri og ein partur av Trongisvági. Trongisvágur er innast á firðinum. Hinumegin fjørðin er Øravíkarlíð, Drelnes har Saltsiloin stendur, og Krambatangi, har Smyril leggur at. Øravík sæst ikki á myndini, heldur ikki Froðba. Tjaldavíkshólmur sæst á myndini, tað er ein hólmur sum er tætt við Tjaldavík og tætt við Øravík.
Dansk: Trongisvágsfjørður er den længste fjord på Suderø (Suðuroy), Færøerne. Tvøroyri er den største bygd som ligger ved fjorden, den er på den nordlige side af fjorden. Trongisvágur ligger inde i bugten. Froðba ligger også på den nordlige side af fjorden længst mod øst. Froðba ses ikke på dette billede. En del af Tvøroyri ses, samt en del af Trongisvágur. Krambatangi er færgelejet, hvor Smyril lægger til kaj. Krambatangi ses på billedet. Drelnes er stedet hvor den gamle Saltsilo er, Drelnes var færgeleje før 2005 da den nye færge kom, og nyt færgeleje blev lavet lidt længere mod øst. |
