DescriptionThe tablinum of the House of Menander (Regio I), Pompeii (14978936569).jpg
On the south side of the atrium facing the entrance is the tablinum. The tablinum is open to the atrium over its full width and likewise to the peristyle to the south. It is decorated in the fourth style in a similar manner to the atrium, but the colours are reversed, with yellow panels with internal ornamental borders framed in red separated by white architectural openings above a black frieze decorated with ornamental bands, plants, and medallions.
