Summary

Description
English: Illustration of a normal operation of the OSG, complete with its rotational direction. The plunger typically rotates in tandem with the flyweight carrier (rotating part), the flyweights and the corresponding propeller. To open the OSG valve, the pictured flyweights toes will push the plunger upwards, setting the whole OSG protection mode in motion. In PK661, the pin connecting the plunger with the other parts had snapped and as a result it was spun by the flyweights instead of rotating in tandem, putting stress on the flyweights toes. One of the toes eventually broke off due to excessive stress.
