Summary

Description
English: Image of the Fort Hays Limestone quarry for the cement mill at Yocemento, Kansas. Scanned image from a Penny Post Card. The rail equipment shown in the picture was dismantled and the quarry abandoned before 1920. The extent of the quarry face is the same as can be seen in the present site, suggesting this image was created at or near the end of operations, between 1916 and 1917, or a little before that.
