English: In December 1642, Abel Tasman anchored in what is now Golden Bay, New Zealand. His flagship, Heemskreck is on the right, and Zeehaen is on the left. They are surround by Maori canoes. This is a section of a sketch in Abel Tasman's journal which shows the two ships firing on the natives.
