Use in article (WP:NFCC#7) World of Art
Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) At the beginning of the article, because it isn't suitable as an infobox image. The image is used for identification in the context of critical commentary of the work for which it serves as cover art. It makes a significant contribution to the user's understanding of the article, which could not practically be conveyed by words alone. The image is placed in the infobox at the top of the article discussing the work, to show the primary visual image associated with the work, and to help the user quickly identify the work and know they have found what they are looking for. Use for this purpose does not compete with the purposes of the original work, namely the book cover creator's ability to provide book cover design services and in turn marketing books to the public.
Not replaceable with
free media because
(WP:NFCC#1)
Any other image that shows the packaging of the books would also be copyrighted, so the image cannot be replaced by a free image.
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3) This will just be used in one Wikipedia page and is not a very high resolution. This one picture contains many books it can convey more information in one image than if it was done in multiple images.
Respect for
commercial opportunities
(WP:NFCC#2)
The copy is of sufficient resolution for commentary and identification but lower resolution than the original book covers. Copies made from it will be of inferior quality, unsuitable as artwork on pirate versions or other uses that would compete with the commercial purpose of the original artwork, in which case sharing the image does not harm commercial opportunities.
